I’d planned it for months, worried about it, was excited with a case of nerves. And then the evening arrived when I was to step on stage to have a conversation with the author and performer of The Vagina Monologues and many other works of art. Her name is V (formerly known as Eve Ensler). V had been on “Now What?” before telling stories from her remarkable life. But we’d never taped a conversation in front of a live audience. We walked into the Center for Fiction in Brooklyn, a beautiful space that celebrates writers. The room was full. My children Jon and Gabe were in the audience. So was my husband Steve, many friends and “Now What?” fans. And as the conversation unfolded, a sense of togetherness and community filled the room. Now you’ll get to be a part of it, too.
